First you need to make sure all the computers are in the same Workgroup. A workgroup is a Windows term that basically means a group of computers that have something in commom and can communicate together. So to make sure all the computers are in the same group, you need to click on Start, and then ControlPanel. Once you are there, click Switch To Classic View in the upper left corner. Now click on the System icon. Click on the Computer Name tab. Click the Change button at the bottom of the dialog box.
You should see this:

So to make sure all the computers are in the same group, you need to click on Start, and then ControlPanel. Once you are there, click Switch To Classic View in the upper left corner. Now click on the System icon. Click on the Computer Name tab. Click the Change button at the bottom of the dialog box.
You should see this:
There are two options listed here: Member of Domain (usually for corporate offices) and Workgroup (which is what we need to use for home). Select Workgroup and type in a name to describe your home network, something short like HOME. Remember, you can’t put any spaces or symbols into the name and this is preferable because you want it to be easy to remember!
Once you type in the name, click OK and then OK again and Windows will ask you to restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Go ahead and do this. In the meantime you can do these same steps for the other computers in your house that you want to connect to the printer.
Now that all the comptuers are in the same group, let’s get to actually sharing the printer. Go to the comptuer that the printer is connected to and click on Start and then Printers and Faxes:
Next, you should see an icon for the printer in the list. Right-click on the printer icon and select Properties. On the dialog box, select the Sharing tab:
Click the Share this printer radio button and type in a name for the share name. The share name is basically what you want the name to be when others look at the printer from their computers. Again, here you need to type a short name with no spaces or symbols, something like HPHome or HPPrint is fine.
Click OK and you’ll see the printer icon looks a different now:
This means that the printer is currently being shared and now we will be able to find it from the other computers. However, before we go to the other computers,
.
Click Start and then Printers & Faxes. In the dialog, click Add a Printer from the upper left corner.
When you see the Welcome to the Add Printer wizard, go ahead and click Next. On the next screen where it asks you what type of printer you want to connect to, choose “A network printer or a printer attached to another computer” option and click Next.
In the next screen, you want to choose “Connect to this printer (or to browse for a printer…)” option and in the text box you will now need to type two forward slashes, “\\” followed by the computer name that we found out earlier, followed by another slash and then the name you chose for the shared printer
Click Next and Windows will try to connect to the printer. It should find it without a problem and then you can click Next and Finish. If however, it does not find it, clear out the entire text box and click Next. Windows will try and find all the computers on the network automatically and it will give you a list of computers of which you can then double click and it will show any shared printers.
Once you double click the name and click Next, the wizard will ask you if you want this to be your default printer or not. Choose Yes or No. After that, you’re done!!! The wizard will automatically download the driver from the other computer, so you don’t have to install the drivers yourself.
Remember, since the other computers are connecting to the main computer attached to the printer, the main computer must be on at all times. Or at least when you want to be able to print from somewhere else. That’s why this method is only good for a home setup, where the main computer stays in one place and is mostly kept on.
Enjoy your new freedom to print from anywhere!!! I’ll also post how to connect a network printer! That’s a lot easier than this procedure and it allows you to print without having to connect through another computer.

How did people live thousands of years ago? The University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities asked this exact same question. They figured this would be the best way to try and understand how humans lived so long ago.
The very first version of the Rome Reborn product went under construction 10 years ago, and the task was finally finished last year. Included in it were 250 highly detailed structures, and a total of over 7,000 structures in all. They used a 1:250 scale model of Rome that took forty years to create (from 1933 to 1973). This smaller scale Rome was actually constructed out of Plaster of Paris. Using laser scanners they scanned the Plaster of Paris model and created the virtual model. The original use of this model was to be utilized in a theater at UCLA. Since last year the Rome Reborn Project has seen many faces, it’s most recent being Rome Reborn 2.0 which improved the detail significantly. Google then joined in and offered to include Rome Reborn in Google Earth.
With Rome Reborn in Google Earth, it’s the equivalent of an virtual time machine, which can be used to study the history of Rome and other great cities of the world. If you currently have Google Earth (any version), you can enjoy touring ancient Rome. Not only can you navigate around the structures, but you can also go in them, and enter areas like the Colosseum and even the Roman Senate. With more time, more information will be added researches believe. They also hope that by pioneering this research into the past – other researchers will catch some inspiration and create 3D models of other forgotten cities.

SChitika is one of the most trusted money making platform after Google Adsense. Chitika Premium ads served on websites of blogs in different way than Google Adsense. In case of Chitika Premium, advertisements appears on the blog with the keyword used for search on Google. That means, Visitor will see the same keyword on advertisement on your blog ad slot and may find that interesting and relevant to his search. This scenario will happen in case the visitor comes to your site thru search engines like Google. But for normal referral visits and direct visits, you may show another ad like Adsense or referral programs on your blog on same ad slot.

If you want to check whether a site is using Chitika advertisements for money making with the alternate ads in case of direct advertisements then you can do that in two different ways.
Search for a keyword for which you can see the same website in SERP on search engine like Google and then open the website or blog from there.
Type the URL of the website or one of he post of the blog and add “#chitikatest=wordpress” at the end of the URL, Now you can see the Chitika ads with the keyword as “Wordpress”.
By using above technique, you can see whether a blog or website is using Chitika Advertisements. This will help you in planning the monetization path for your own blog

history Tree is a cool Firefox add-on that lets you view your web history like a tree or block of screenshots. So if you have visited a large number of web pages in the past hour it may be difficult for you hunting down for a particular page. But if you could see the screenshot of the visited page (rather than the URL) you can quickly recognize it.History tree does just the same.
What can be viewed using history tree ?
History tree lets you view three important stats :
1.Your recently visited pages
2.Currently open tabs
3.Recently closed tabs
Following is a screenshot of how the history tree actually looks
firefox-history-tree
Each box in the history tree represents a site that you had visited and has two buttons under them. One button is the arrow which indicates that this webpage has pages linked to it.That means after visiting that page you had jumped to another page and hence the tree like structure is shown. The next button is represented by a question mark which shows you other important data ( e.g Currently open tabs, time of visit, duration etc).
Clicking the question mark button also shows you a bigger picture of how the page looked.
larger-view-webpage-firefox
Apart from viewing the individual website history in Firefox you can also show all open tabs, show all open pages, show a selected tab and show all closed tabs.
On selecting the website thumbnails options you are presented with thumbnails of your previously visited sites in Firefox.Clicking a thumbnail lets you open the webpage in a new tab as shown below
website-thumbnails
The size of the website screenshots can be adjusted according to your desire. The most promising feature of history tree is the ability to search and find a particular website from a whole lot of visited pages so there isn’t a problem if you are looking for a page you had visited a couple of hours ago.The found pages are highlighted in green and you can even search web pages by URL.
History tree Works with Firefox 3.0 and 3.5. To use it go to Tools-> History tree.
Downside : The only downside of history tree is it is not able to save your browsing history. If you close the browser everything is gone !

Sometimes small changes can be significantly aesthetic. In this case we present you a little trick to change color of Windows 7 progress bar to blue.
In fact many elements in Windows 7 are in blue tones, like the icons, navigation buttons, elements of windows which makes the green progress bar of Windows 7 somewhat unfit so make it look cool blue via MyDigitalLife.
The colors are part of the language of the operating system’s graphical environment, we all know that such a message in red are not good news, but perhaps we have not noticed that in Windows, specifically Windows 7 in most of the elements are shown in shades of blue. The icons, elements of windows such as buttons, the start button except the progress bar.
How to change Windows 7 Progress bar color to Blue
1. Download Blue_ProgressBar.rar
2. Disable Aero in Control Panel-Personalization(switch to classic or basic theme).
3. Install the correct UxStyle for your system(x86 or x64).

FGoogle Labs engines are always running and now they have released a gem called as Fast Flip. Basically, a new version of their Google News, called Google fast flip, making it easier to browse multiple news sources through one outlet.
This page tries to blend experimental bringing experience in magazines / newspapers printed on online world, eliminating wait time and allowing a completely visual navigation between news. This is done by preloading static images of various news sites, adding a user interface designed to move from one image to another instantly.
The news comes from some 40 popular sources in the world (The New York Times, The Washington Post, BBC, Esquire, etc.). The predominance of newspapers and magazines seem to reveal a move aimed at calming the anger some of the serious press. The effect is very accomplished, but only serves to take a look: if you want to read the full story we must go to the source.
The content is organized by theme, and this is precisely the strength of Fast Flip: to review various perspectives on the same story. If they know strengthen this aspect could be an interesting tool with a future, if you do not know exploit, simply would be in a feed reader spectacular but limited and unhelpful. By the way, it has a mobile version for Android and iPhone, which works the same or better.

WordPress is popular and common platform among bloggers. Installation of WordPress is also quick and simple (thanks to Fantastico which is generally included by all hosting providers) Finishing installation doesn’t completes your work but that’s te beginning, there’s much work still to be done. So, Here I am leaving you with 10 things you should do after installing wordpress blog.
1. Registration : Register yourself at wordpress.com to get your API key which is required to activate famous Anti-spam comment’s plugin called Akismet.
2. Change structure of permalinks : By default, wordpress permalink setting is ../?p=123 but it is recommended to have search engine friendly URL structure. I would suggest to have custom ../% category% /% postname%.
Both options are available under settings tab of your WordPress admin panel.
3. Implement a system cache : In order to improve performance of your blog (more speed for less resources), you should install cache plugin. Itcaches your pages in order to increase the response speed and minimize the server load. You can choose from three popular ones namely 1blogcacher, Super Cache and Wp-cache. I am using Super Cache for this blog.
4. Create Sitemap : This is one of the most essential step since Sitemap is something which helps Search engines to crawl your site content more easily. It can be created easily with Google XML site map plugin.
5. Change Feed direction to feedburner : This has to be done in all links of feed present on your blog design (especially in single.php, sidebar.php and footer.php) I would recommend using FeedSmith plugin to reduce manual effort.
6. Add tracking code : It is necessary to to track performance of your site. For this you can add google analytics, Statcounter or any other. Statcounter is reliable and loads fast as per my knowledge and experience.
7. Add your site on Webmasters’ tools : I too was unaware about it. But, Google Webmasters’ tools have all functions that lets you sign your sitemap (point 4) for fast indexing and gives you search statistics and errors related to your site. It’s worth calling it webmaster tools.
8. Create robots.txt : Through Webmasters tool, I came to knew it’s importance. You can analyze (if you already have) or you can generate right from there by selecting options.
9. Design : First impression on any visitor of your blog is design. Just take care that the design contains important elements such as a search engine, an icon of subscription (Feed), a navigation menu and it is easy to read. You can have look to some selected WP theme here.
10. Start Content posting : Start posting by telling the world what you are going to write about on blog and you an write about your self too. To start conversation with visitors add contact page with Wp-contact form plugin.
Also, don’t forget to create about page because visitor will need to know more about you.
Surely the time will need other tools, plugins or themes, but I think these are the 10 most essential tasks. Happy Blogging!
